Old Town Tavernas and Restaurants

Acquasante – Turn right opposite Gecko jewelry shop and follow the signs – classy Italian restaurant – excellent and different menu mainly of fish and sea food – lovely views from the veranda – English and Italian spoken.

Aloni – Up from the bus stop in front of the tower – Mainly grilled food and fresh fish when available – Great views from the veranda – English spoken.

Arhondostasi(also known as Mary’s Bar) – Further along from the Aloni taverna – limited menu – ask about the daily dish – Great views from the veranda – English spoken.

Astrofegia – Coming up from Patitiri, before reaching the bus stop, look for the sign on your left which leads up a small path – different menu with international flavour and daily specials – cozy and romantic surroundings – Excellent English spoken.

Kastro – Past the war memorial, first taverna on the right – extensive menu with spit roast meat specialty – also serves opposite in an old ruin – Very good English spoken.

Kyra Nina – Past the war memorial, first taverna on the left – extensive menu with spit roast meat and Greek dishes – English spoken.

Naval – Heading up to the town square halfway up the steps – great food, mainly pasta, salads etc – great views from the terrace – English spoken.

Niko’s – past the bus stop, first taverna on the right as your going up to the Old Town – mainly grilled meat, starters and salads – English spoken.

Panselinos – Right where the bus stops in the Old Town – extensive and original menu with international flair – nice atmosphere and great view from the upstairs balcony – Very good English spoken.

Paraport – last taverna on the left at the top of the Old Town – limited menu with international flavour – great view of the old town from veranda area at the back – English spoken.

Peri Orexios– Above the supermarket at the bus stop in the Old Town – snack and grill bar with excellent food – sitting area opposite the taverna under the pine trees – English spoken.
