Alonissos may be a little more difficult to reach than other more “popular” or well known Greek islands…. but we guarantee that it is well worth the effort when you get here!!

There are several ways to reach Alonissos depending on your starting point. How to get to Alonissos…..
1) Internal flight from Athens airport to Skiathos – for schedules and reservations please check www.olympicair.com – from Skiathos you then have several choices to connect to a ferry or catamaran for your onward journey to Alonissos.
2) To access the island of Alonissos from Athens by flying dolphin, ferry or catamaran, you have to reach the port of Agios Konstantinos (165 km). To facilitate your journey to and from the port of Agios Konstantinos, there is a passenger bus service from the centre of Athens.

For Hellenic Seaways – service offered from Alkyon Travel (97 Akadimias Street, Kanigos square, Athens).
For Aegean Flying Dolphins and Aqua Ferries – service offered from Jetatours (54 Nikis Street, Syntagma Square, Athens).
The bus synchronizes with the flying dolphins, ferries and catamarans to Alonissos. Please always confirm bus service availability and book your bus ticket in advance. Reserved tickets should be collected at least 1.5 hours before the scheduled bus departure. Travel time by flying dolphin is 2 hours 40 minutes, the ferry is approx. 5-6 hours and by catamaran is 4 hours.
3) Kymi is the alternative route if you’re departing from Athens. The cost is much less than if you travel from Agios Konstantinos and the ferry is 2 1/2 hours instead of 5. The ferry runs from mid June until mid September and information and rates can be found on www.sne.gr. Alkyon Travel in Athens is also the agent in Athens for issuing tickets.
From Skiathos – there are numerous ferries and catamarans daily. The travel time is around 3 hours by ferry and 1 1/2 hours by catamaran and just over 1 hour by flying dolphin.
From Volos – you will find several departure times daily on open seas with stops in Skiathos, Glossa (depending on vessel) and Skopelos. Travel time by ferry is approx. 5-6 hours and by catamaran is 4 hours and 2 hours 40 minutes by flying dolphin.
From Thessaloniki – Direct service from Thessaloniki with Hellenic Seaways – travel time just under 3 hours. Schedules on the open seas website.
